Unfortunately, in some cases our team will have to undertake some excavation work to get to the root of the problem. Drain excavation is very complex and shouldn’t be undertaken lightly. It should always be a last resort and we will endeavour to make sure all possible avenues have been explored before advising any excavation work.
In severe cases, engineers may need to dig a hole or trench to properly access and fix a drainage issue. In a lot of cases, drains can be repaired from above ground. But occasionally, we will need to get up close to your drain.
Site Assessment and Health & Safety
Before undertaking a drain excavation, we will do a thorough site assessment, taking into account health and safety considerations and storage of excavated materials. By first assessing the site, we can determine where to dig, avoiding other lines and services. We are members of the SafeContractor scheme for health and safety.
In order to protect health and safety, we will also assess any risks and take measures to address them, such as shoring and barriers.
The Excavation
We will always choose the least disruptive method for digging, whether by hand or using an excavator, ensuring safety at all times. Any materials that are removed and need reinstating after the excavation will be carefully stored. If it does not need to be kept, we will responsibly dispose of it for you. Following the excavation, our engineers will reinstate any site materials, returning the site to its original condition.
